I currently work for Williams F1 where I am General Manager of the Williams Technology Centre in Qatar. The WTC was conceived by Williams F1 to develop and commercialise technologies that have their origins in Formula One. The WTC will initially focus on two projects: the development of large Magnetic Loaded Composite (MLC) electromechanical flywheel energy storage systems and advanced vehicle simulators. The former has been pioneered by Williams Hybrid Power (@williamshp) most recently helping the new Porsche 911 GT3R Hybrid almost win the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. The WTC is housed in the amazing Qatar Science & Technology Park. The following B-Roll video on YouTube gives a good sense for the scale and great design. Thomson Reuters profiled me on the IP aspects of the WTC project on their Intelligent Information for Life site and posted a video of the interview on YouTube

Outside of my day job I am a founding Trustee of Mothers for All, a Southern African AIDS charity as well as a founder and non-executive director of social enterprise startup oneleap.to

I received a first class B.Sc (Advanced) (hons) in physics with a major in psychology from the University of Sydney. The subject of my thesis was the performance of large scale linear fresnel concentrating solar thermal systems.

The majority of my childhood was spent in remote Botswana - a part of my life recently chronicled by my sister, Robyn Scott, in her debut book: Twenty Chickens for a Saddle.
