I’m a founder and technologist. I was homeschooled in Botswana and read too much science fiction, which left me with a lifelong fascination for energy systems and how they move humanity up the Kardashev scale toward post-scarcity.
I currently lead the 1cFE initiative at the Astera Institute, exploring paths to ultra-low-cost fusion energy.
Before that, I founded Marain, a company that built simulation and optimization software for electric and autonomous vehicle fleets. Marain was acquired by General Motors.
Earlier in my career, I worked in Formula One at Williams F1, helping design and deliver high-performance engineering projects across aerodynamics, energy recovery, and control systems—an environment that defined my sense of rigor and speed.
I hold a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Sydney and an MS and MBA from Stanford University.
